Simba, who had managed to escape to safety, was found by Scar. “The king is dead, and if it weren’t for you, he’d still be alive,” Scar told him. Consumed by guilt and sorrow, Simba fled the Pride Lands, believing he was responsible for his father’s death.
Chapter 4: Exile and New Friends
Lost and alone, Simba collapsed in a distant desert, exhausted and heartbroken. Here, he was found by Timon and Pumbaa, a meerkat and warthog duo who lived by a simple philosophy: Hakuna Matata, which means no worries. They took Simba under their wing and introduced him to a carefree life away from the responsibilities of being a prince.
In this oasis of peace, Simba grew into a strong lion, untouched by the worries of his past. He enjoyed his days playing with his new friends and embracing the Hakuna Matata lifestyle. With Scar defeated, the rains returned to the Pride Lands, washing away the scars of Scar’s reign. Simba ascended Pride Rock, with Nala by his side, as the animals of the kingdom gathered to acknowledge their true king.
